The Learner in Front of You
Coaching, Communication and Adaptation in Client-Centred Driving Lessons
Join Ray Seagrave for a practical full-day workshop designed for ADIs and PDIs who want to improve the quality of their everyday lessons, prepare for Part 3 or a Standards Check, and better understand the learner in front of them.
You’ll explore how trust, rapport and psychological safety affect learning, how to create better coaching conversations, and when teaching, explaining, prompting, supporting, coaching or intervening may be more effective.
The day also looks at adapting communication for learners with additional learning needs, autism, anxiety or demand-avoidant behaviours, as well as cognitive load, difficult learner responses and how to turn reflection into meaningful practice and visible learning.
Through realistic scenarios, practical exercises and small-group discussion, you’ll explore how to adapt the route, support, pace, challenge and lesson goal while keeping learning safe and client-centred.
You’ll also receive a free 23-page e-book: The 17 DVSA Competencies: A Practical Guide for Driving Instructors.
9:30-16:30
CPD certificate included
No roleplay
Venue:
Ynyscedwyn Rugby Club
Ynyscedwyn Rd, Ystradgynlais
Swansea SA9 1BH
Spaces are limited, so early booking is recommended.
